Scented Candle Making Workshop

Includes: A two hour workshop where you will learn about candles, how candles work and how to make scented candles. Each person will make two scented candles and have them personalised with your choice of wording on the label, refreshments and snacks will also be provided. Your candles will be ready to take home later that day, after making use of your complimentary entrance ticket to further explore Fort St. Angelo.


Have you ever wanted to learn how to make scented candles?

We invite you to join us in our Scented Candle Making Workshop in our new workshop venue within the grounds of the iconic Fort St. Angelo, right here in Birgu.

Our Candle Making Workshops occur on occasional days throughout the year, this informal workshop enables you to discover the art of scented candle making, safely and professionally, with all necessary equipment and materials provided for your workshop.

To start, you will learn a little about the history of candles, the different components of a candle and how they work including the wax, wick and fragrance and the importance of accuracy in each step of the way.

In turn you will create your very own scented candle, but not just one, you get to make two very nice scented candles to keep, a tin candle with lid and a nicely packaged glass jar, both with a personalised label inscription on completion.

As candles take time to set once created, you are invited to spend some time after your workshop exploring and discovering the wonderful historic grounds and treasures of Fort St.Angelo using your complimentary entrance ticket. After an hour or so your scented candles with personalised labels will be ready for collection before leaving.

Q & A

When do your Candle Making Workshops take place?

Our Candle Making Workshops take place on occasional Saturday and Sundays throughout the year.

How many people can take part?

We limit our workshops for convenience and comfort to a maximum of 10 people at a time. For safety reasons, you must be 16 years or older to take part in our scented candle making workshops.

Depending on the size of your booking there may be other people in attendance with you on the day, you will all have a common interest in candles and are sure to break the ice over a drink and a chat.

Can I personalise my finished candles?

Absolutely! In fact we encourage it! You can provide the details of your personalisation of the candle’s label on the day. For example “Happy Birthday Joseph!” or “Thank You!” etc.

Can I purchase other candle products on the day?

A selection of our candles, reed diffusers, wax melts and skin care will be available to buy with a 10% discount!

Can I bring a friend or family member with me to watch?

Unfortunately, only people participating in the workshop will be allowed to attend.

Where are we?

Fort St. Angelo is located at the end of the peninsular of Birgu (Vittoriosa) in the Three Cities.

How do I book?

To attend our Scented Candle Making Workshop, please use the booking form below or visit our shop in Birgu and book in person.

When booking for more than one person online, simply select Bringing anyone with you? to add additional people to your booking before clicking Continue, which will then take you to the next stage of choosing your preferred date.

Once you have selected the number of places to book for a workshop you will be presented with a choice of these dates within a calendar. Once a date is selected you can then proceed to pay securely.

If your chosen date is unavailable, it is either already fully booked or the number of places you are attempting to book exceeds the number of places available for that day.

Bookings are strictly non-refundable, however, should you need to change the date of your booking it is sometimes possible to reschedule to a different available date in the future, although this cannot be guaranteed.

Should you have to reschedule your booking, you must contact us at least 7 days before your workshop is due to take place, if you contact us with less than 7 days prior notice you will automatically forfeit your right to reschedule but you can gift or sell your workshop place(s) to someone else.
